I have a little problem with storing photos on my phone… The truth is, I probably have around 25,000 pictures sitting there. I always tell myself I’ll organize them, sort through them, but let’s be real, I never do.
There are hundreds of selfies snapped in a 10-minute burst, photos from my teenage years, family holidays, screenshots of things I swear I’ll come back to (but never will), recipes, cute dogs, outfit inspo, places I dream of visiting... It all just piles up into one massive digital blur- so close and obtainable, yet somehow still fleeting.
Lately, I've felt like I've been on a little mission. I want to make things tangible, real. A way to hold onto my favorite memories with my favorite people. That’s why I decided to create a mini photo book filled with my best Lola shots! A tiny (perfectly imperfect) keepsake of life’s sweetest moments, made to be held, flipped through, and cherished!
So! For this fun crafty project, you will need: A printer, your photos, printer paper, card stock paper (your selection of colours is up to you!), scissors, glue, a hole puncher, ribbon, a bulldog clip and stickers to decorate your (printed) Lola Cam!
Also remember, you don't have to copy me directly, maybe you'll see my lovely ingredients list and think you might prefer to use twine instead of ribbon or a hairclip instead of a bulldog clip, or no clip! That's the fun part about getting crafty- I'll show you what I did, but I encourage you to explore and use your own creativity in the process!
Feel free to download this ransom letter design I put together. The front and back of our Lola cam will be the cover of the mini photo book!
Then go ahead and print that out. I also printed out a bunch of pics that I shot on my Lola. I filled out an A4 page with 8 photos filling the space on each sheet and I made sure the photos were smaller than the printed out Lola cam. I just used my home printer for this project but if you want to go into a store and get them processed on some nice photo paper- go ahead!
For this step, you wanna cut everything out. Make sure your Lola camera and coloured card stock paper are the same sizes and your photos are slightly smaller so they can fit nicely onto the card stock paper.
The next step is a bit sticky :) Glue a rectangle of cardstock to your Lola camera to your book cover stronger- Otherwise it's just a floaty, flimsy piece of paper... Unless that's what you want! A Lola cam is rounded at the edges, so you might want to cut off the corners of that cardstock to make the shape cleaner. Then, get all your photos and stick them on your cardstock paper. I chose blue, orange, yellow, pink and green because I liked how the colours popped together! You might prefer one colour for yours, either is fine!
Now that all your pieces are prepared, grab your hole puncher and stab lil holes into every "page" including your camera cover!
Now, weave your ribbon through all the holes and seal all the pages together with a wonderful bow! I added a bulldog clip on the other side to close it tight.
I love to customize my real Lola cam, so it only made sense to keep going and add some stickers for personality! I was super happy with how this turned out. Now I just wanna make like 10 more to give to my friends!
